GaGa IS A Man... Kinda

Pictures of a person rumoured to be Lady Gaga in drag have fans all a twitter today, after celebrity blogger Perez Hilton posted them online.

Rumours are swirling over whether the photos are in fact the 24-year-old star, who has previously laughed off suggestions she was born with male organs.

The pictures were taken as part of a photoshoot for Japanese men's magazine Vogue Homme and have appeared on Gaga stylist Nicola Formichetti's personal blog.

Formichetti credits unknown model Jo Calderone on her website, but fans suspect the name could be a prank by the controversy-seeking singer. Letters rearranged, fans claim the name is a near match for the title of her latest hit single.

"Jo Calderone = Alejandro (+c) [sic]" one fan tweeted.

"She did say that she loved androgyny and the way that Liza Minelli was able to pull it off."

Another posted: "I'm confused, are we supposed to call her daddy monster now?"

Others have openly pondered - if it is indeed Gaga - where her usually ample bosom has disappeared to.

Hilton posted the twitpics yesterday under the cryptic tag line "My hubby".

"My man is so hot! Love him!" he tweeted.

London's Daily Mail website has suggested the photos "are Gaga's idea of poking fun at rumours that she is a hermaphrodite."

"I love the rumour that I have a penis. I'm fascinated by it," the website quoted her as saying.

"In fact, it makes me love my fans even more that this rumour is in the world because 17,000 of them come to an arena every night and they don't care if I'm a man, a woman, a hermaphrodite, gay, straight, transgendered, or transsexual.

"They don't care. They are there for the music and the freedom."

Either way, the truth will be revealed in September, when the Vogue spread is due to hit the shelves.

It does look like her... but maybe he's just been in drag all this time as GaGa and now he's taken it off? Ah... it's like that age old question; which came first, the chicken or the egg?
